Glass panels

Learning to paint on glass enriches my experience as an artist. Everything is backwards from traditional painting.

I use two techniques with glass. Slumped or draped technique, the glass is placed over a mold and heated until it slumps into the shape. The glass is sculpted by the intense heat of a kiln. Then the back side is painted and reheated.

Flat glass, the glass is using like a canvas. The only difference is that you turn the glass over to see the image. The glass is heated in the kiln to fix the paint to
the glass.

Acrylic on wood

Nature, the human body and the Virgin Mary have been the subject of my paintings for a long time. Each one takes the same approach but in the process, each becomes an experiment of color and proportion.

The dots are the last veil but the most important and characteristic part of
my work.
